(Source: Google: New Oxford American Dictionaries) The lamp post (extract) The lamp shade had been wrenched apart from the pole. A wind storm had tossed it to the ground. The next day I inadvertently stepped on it! In lieu of this, something motivated me to place the damaged lamp shade in a storage bag. The bulb was now exposed and appeared unsafe so I removed it. The light that previously emanated from this lamp was off and inactive for quite some time. Months later my friend asked “Do you have the lamp shade?” I still had it in a storage bag with the intention to throw it away. “Yes, but it’s broken.” I said. “I’ll repair it.” He replied.... “Greater is He that is in you than he that lives in the world.” John 4 v 4. © 2018-2020, Annette O.
