What is IT all about?     Journey Continues Blog ~         Annette Olivia Brown, Christian Author

During a time of reflection I googled the question: What is it all about? My desire was to explore  images related to this profound question. Perhaps I should have asked Alexa?….This type of query, however, is too vague for the Alexa program.  I did discover that this specific question is very popular.

Pondering this type of question, in my opinion, is a very healthy activity.  We should pause from time to time to ponder the meaning of life.  Knowing what IT is all about is fundamental.  I define IT as life.  What is life all about?  What is important?  What should one focus on or make a priority?

Major global events during the past two years have challenged and are challenging humanity in many ways.  Observing, recollecting, reflecting are all helpful strategies for gaining understanding and perspective.  In Scripture,  Jesus often asked individuals a question to promote constructive and reflective thought.

“But what about you?”  Jesus asked “Who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered. “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus replied “Blessed are you Simon son of Jonah. For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood. But by my Father in heaven”.  Matthew 16 v15-17.

This exchange between Jesus and Peter illustrates many important insights.  Peter is asked to provide his personal perspective.  Ones knowledge and experience are usually the source for personal opinion.  Peter’s response, however, revealed a deeper reservoir or resource for knowledge.  Jesus declares that flesh and blood, human thought and reasoning, did not provide the revelation but His Father, God.  God is Spirit and therefore Peter’s response was spiritually discerned.

As we seek answers about the meaning of life there are many modes or avenues we can take.  As a Christian, we believe and have experienced insight that comes not just from human reasoning but from the Holy Spirit of God.
In the book of John it is written:

“But when he, the Spirit of Truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.” John 16 v 13.

Ultimate understanding of truth is therefore spiritually discerned. We are guided into all truth.  Led, ushered, facilitated into all truth by the Holy Spirit of God.  This knowledge actually releases us. We understand there are revelations that we will never gain by ourselves.  We do, however, have a means of gaining perfect understanding when it is given to us by and through the Spirit of God.
